China-South Africa Heart to Heart · Coronary Intervention Academic Exchange — South African Experts' Visit to Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University

Two South African interventional cardiologists, Dr. H. Weich and Dr. JEAN VORSTER, visited the International Medical Center Catheterization Lab at Beijing Friendship Hospital (Tongzhou Campus). Vice Professor Song Xiantao and Prof. Zhao Huiqiang welcomed the South African experts, joined by Dr. Liu Ruifeng, Dr. Hua Bing, and other specialists.

Dr. H. Weich shared insights on cardiovascular disease data, cath lab distribution, and current treatment approaches in South Africa. Prof. Zhao led the South African experts into the cath lab for live case observations, engaging in real-world discussions on the choice between rotational atherectomy and IVL, as well as different strategies for CTO lesions. During the procedures, GuReater® CoCr Sirolimus-Eluting Coronary Stent System and VessCrack® Catheter System Coronary IVL Balloon Dilatation from Lepu Medical were applied in routine clinical practice, demonstrating their usability in real-world scenarios.
