Bringing IVL to Sri Lanka – A New Chapter in Cardiovascular Care
Lepu Medical has officially introduced Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to the Sri Lankan market — marking the first time this innovative technology has been presented by a Chinese brand in the region.
In early August, together with our partner George Steuart Health (Pvt) Ltd, we showcased our IVL and Coronary Intervention solutions at the 25th Annual Academic Sessions 2025 in Colombo. At the event, we presented IVL to renowned local cardiologists, answered their questions, and addressed concerns. Many physicians expressed strong interest, highlighting the technology’s huge potential, while recognizing Lepu’s 20+ years of experience in PCI.
Beyond the exhibition, our team visited Lanka Hospitals Cath Lab, Kings Hospital Cath Lab, and Hemas Hospital Wattala Cath Lab, where many physicians experienced IVL technology for the first time and shared their excitement about its ability to treat complex calcified lesions with greater precision and safety.
