Clinical Spotlight | Nuva® Flow Diverter + Embolic Coils for Ophthalmic Segment ICA Aneurysm

Clinical Spotlight | Nuva® Flow Diverter + Embolic Coils for Ophthalmic Segment ICA Aneurysm

Patient: Male, 21 years old

Diagnosis: Left internal carotid artery C6 segment ophthalmic artery aneurysm

Procedure:

The procedure was successfully performed at Suzhou First People’s Hospital by Dr. Ma Xiuyao and Dr. Ren Chao.

Vascular access was established via femoral artery puncture, and a Perdenser® 6 mm × 20 cm 3D coil was first deployed to form a basket, achieving stable wall apposition and providing secure intrasaccular support. This was followed by the insertion of a Perdenser® 6 mm × 15 cm 3D coil to disrupt blood flow within the lobulated daughter sac.

A Perfiller® 3 mm × 6 cm expansible coil and a Perfiller® 3 mm × 2 cm expansible coil were then placed to complete neck occlusion. Subsequently, a Nuva® Flow Diverter (TJED-D-5.0-16) was delivered and deployed across the aneurysm neck. Follow-up angiography in both anteroposterior and lateral views confirmed excellent coverage, good wall apposition, and clear radiopacity, with marked contrast stagnation.

The procedure was completed smoothly with no complications, and the patient recovered without neurological deficits.

Why Nuva®?

·   Nuva® Flow Diverter combines superior visibility, smooth navigation, and reliable deployment.

·   The device achieves precise wall apposition and stable flow diversion.

·   Nuva® supports durable parent artery reconstruction, even in complex aneurysm anatomies.

This case demonstrates that Nuva®, together with Perdenser® and Perfiller® Coils, provides physicians with an integrated and effective solution for treating challenging internal carotid artery aneurysms.
